Everything in My Office

As an event manager focused on events such as cooking workshops, team-building games and dancing breaks, most of my work is concentrated in the kitchen and outdoor settings. However, I still need to work from the office or working with my team, and on most days I find myself spending up to 12 hours in my office chair where I can sit and concentrate on everything that needs to be done, be it preparing the documentation for an event, handling the marketing aspect of our events or writing another blog to share my experiences with you.

I am sure one of these office supplies are perfect for anyone looking for a minimalist workspace. I am a minimalist and I believe in creating my life around selective high-quality things and a few right people. I don't like to hoard my life with a lot of unnecessary clutter that might not be required, and if you aspire to live a minimalist lifestyle as well, I am certain one or more of these office supplies can help you build your own workspace.

Office Chair

The first and foremost important thing in my office is my chair, as I spend most of my time sitting in there. I prefer a cozy, luxurious chair, and at the moment, I'm using a gaming chair which is very comfortable. In fact, it is so cozy that I don’t even notice the long hours I spend on the chair just working. My partner kindly takes care of food and water while I'm occupied. Sometimes when I am feeling more motivated to stay in posture, I exchange my chair with my partner's Varier chair which helps me with the same. He finds my chair remarkably comfortable, so it's a win-win situation for both of us!

Office Table and Bar Stool

At the moment, I use a wooden table as my office table. I also own a standing desk that's compact and adjustable. It provides ample room for my laptop, accommodating all my essential work tools with ease.

Besides the standing desk, I also have a bar stool, which not only aids in maintaining my balance but also encourages a dynamic work routine. This stool has become handy during brainstorming sessions with my partner or when collaborating with friends, as it serves as a comfortable seating option for them to join in the creative process.

Efficient Printer

Before I never owned a printer and preferred going to coffee shops to take printouts. However, during the lockdown, we bought a compact, affordable printer to print recipes and documents. This year, we upgraded to a better printer for our expanding business, which now has increased printing needs. It efficiently handles fast black and white printing, while also scanning documents and paperwork at a faster rate. We are delighted with its performance, and it is a one-stop solution for all your printing needs.

Slim and Powerful MacBook

As a busy professional, I'm always on the go and need to have the right tools to help me stay productive and organized. One of the most important tools in my arsenal is my trusty MacBook Air which I have for years now. It’s small, lightweight, easy to carry and fits in a small space, incredibly powerful and has all the features I need to get my work done efficiently. What else do I need from it? While my partner was skeptical if I needed a MacBook Pro, I believe the MacBook Air is perfect for my needs.

iPad Pro

When it comes to events, my iPad Pro is my go-to back up device. It's perfect for online events, especially if my partner isn't at home to help me out. Even though the screen is small, it's powerful enough to help me with multitasking and running multiple applications. Plus, it's great for photography and editing on the go.

One of my favorite iPad accessories is the Bluetooth apple keypad. It adds a fun element to my work and brings vibrant energy to my workspace.

Calculator

Even though phones have an in-built calculator, my calculator still comes in handy and increases my efficiency during work. I use it during events when I have to do a lot of calculations and make sure that we fit everything into the customer's budget. It's small and fits easily in my bag, making it easy to use whenever I need it.

ReMarkable

To reduce clutter and keep my schedule organized, I use an electronic diary called the ReMarkable. It's an excellent tool for keeping track of my daily schedule, important notes, and reminders. It helps me stay on top of my work and ensures that I don't forget any critical tasks.

Kindle: The Book Lover's Device

Lastly, my Kindle is my constant companion for personal and professional development. I love reading books about business development, personal development, and leadership.

I used to find it difficult to read while traveling because I didn't always have access to books. During a delayed flight, my partner just gave me his Kindle, and reading has never been the same since. Later, he surprised me by giving me a kindle on his birthday - not mine - because he couldn't wait to give me a device that had become my favorite, and it is a present I will always treasure.

I love how simple a kindle is to use and how I can switch between books whenever I want. I adore how simple it is to browse books, read sample chapters, and make a purchase with just one click. I can easily return a book if I decide within the first few pages that it isn't for me.

Book Recommendations:

Feel the fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers (my all-time favorite)

You’re a Badass by Jen Sincero (my current read)

These are all essential tools that help me stay on top of my work and achieve my goals. Each device serves a unique purpose and brings value to my personal and professional life.
